Refugee Assistance

Refugee Assistance Morristown Partners

Founded in 2016, Refugee Assistance Morris Partners, Inc (RAMP) is a volunteer organization which seeks to assist vetted and documented refugee families and individuals from countries in which their lives are threatened by war or violence to transition to productive lives of dignity, safety, and hope in Morris County, New Jersey. St. Peter’s was a founding member of RAMP. RAMP is supported both financially and with volunteers from St. Peter’s.

RAMP is a co-sponsor working with International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Church World Service (CWS) and provides a full range of core support services and financial assistance to aid our families, all vetted refugees. These services include finding employment opportunities; identifying appropriate social services; educational assistance; transportation; and medical care. Services also include raising, managing, and judiciously distributing funds, and finding and furnishing suitable living arrangements. The objective is gradual independence for each of the resettled families.

As of summer 2024, RAMP has assisted ten families and our eleventh family arrived on Oct. 31, 2023. Several of our “graduates” are now citizens and two are serving in the military. Please check out the RAMP website www.rampnj.org to find out more and to learn of the many volunteer opportunities.
